Important note: This policy is not a Manual Handling competency.

For RN’s, as explained in the course ‘Mandatory competencies per your AHPRA registration’, it is your responsibility to independently attend to an industry recognised Manual Handling competency (including theory and practical). You have, or will provide evidence of this competency to HHQ.

Statement

This policy applies to all workers including volunteers and contractors providing services to this organisation.

Healthcare HQ (HHQ) is committed to the provision of a safe, healthy and productive workplace.

Healthcare HQ recognises that hazardous manual tasks increase the risk of injury to workers and have developed a range of procedures to reduce this risk.

Objective

The objectives of our policy are to:

  • Ensure that our clients maintain a safe and healthy work environment;
  • Reduce the costs of manual handling injuries both to the organisation and individuals;
  • Address any client workplace factors which may increase the risk of manual handling injuries; and
